I don't know who this guy is or where he is but he is doing extreme ironing. I found him on another blog I follow which has set up a challenge for what it calls 'extreme sewing'. Now not only do I love walking but I also sew a lot.. So I have it in mind to accept this challenge. I just need to take my sewing machine somewhere extreme......and then take a shot and send it into the competition.
I will of course keep you all informed on this blog how I get on. But if you have any ideas, please let me know. However, I reserve the right to ignore all requests from you to put my sewing machine in too much danger.....
Those of you who do follow my other sewing blog will know that I was 'discovered' by a presenter on Radio Cumbria who asked me to do a 5 day blog to be broadcast on what is aptly named 'Little Cumbria'. It's like a snapshot of 3 people's lives for a week. Anyway, I took up that challenge too, the upshot is that next week starting on Monday until Friday, I am on the Ian Timms show at approx 5.45pm for a few minutes. I will put links to this blog for those of you who must listen to me.....
Of course Pete was also asked to do a blog spot. His is very amusing and his will be broadcast the week after mine. So what do you make of that then? Your two friendly neighbourhood ML's blogging on the Radio. If you like what you hear you can text them and comment, I don't know the number but I am sure you can find out. So a brief moment of fame awaits us both......But don't expect us to wax lyrical about mountains because our brief was to describe our week and both of us have not been out on the fells for a while now. We are beginning to plan the extreme outing though.... I wonder if we can take a photo of Pete with a sewing machine? Or even better if we can persuade Bella.

I know Bella is extremely clever but I will be impressed if she can manage the sewing machine pedal and keep the fabric straight at the same time {giggle}
Bella has a pretty good set of little teeth and loves hanging onto socks but she does like to tug so she might have difficulty with the fabric, or it might end up with lots of little holes in it.....
Pedal would not be a problem I suspect as her foot work is pretty fancy.
Thanks for ruining my mascara, I laughed so much when I read the blog! Extreme sewing? That would be very funny, seeing you up on a mountain with a sewing machine. How about perched on Striding Edge's Bad Step? I'm sure there's enough room there (not!). Poor Ewan's not into Extreme Ironing - apparently he thinks that ironing at home is extreme enough. He's a bloke - say no more! Liked 'Bilbo's' comment about Bella keeping the fabric straight! If you put the link on the site for the radio show Lynn, I'd be grateful. It'd be wonderful listening out for you and Pete!
I'm not good on neither sewing nor ironing or cooking at home, so let alone on extreme sewing or ironing or cooking! No Deutsche Hausfrau, aren't I Pete?
The picture is so funny and imagining Bella . . . lol!
I can have the Ian Timms show one day later on the Radio Cumbria internet site, I've checked it. So I'm looking forward to listen to you and Pete (and Bella?) next week.
I'm going to have four days off over New Year, and therefore thought about coming to Keswick for a quick visit, of course. But everybody has some days off and everybody is travelling on such days, which makes the flight much too expensive, regrettably.
Did something very silly yesterday. Found a blind booking special including destination London, 19,99 Euros fix one way. I've thought I'll try it, maybe . . . I did it . . . and will spend four days in Dresden!!! That's quite a difference, but why not? It's well worth a visit, I think, I will miss Keswick there, though . . .
Dresden? That's where my maternal grandmother came from! Hope you have a good time there Kira!
Have a good holiday kira. Sorry I made your mascara run Tess :)
Pete has made a few suggestions about where I can be extreme....
Watch this blog as the daring Lyn goes sewing where no woman has sewn before...all I need is for it to stop raining!
It's raining over there? It's raining here, too!
Your maternal grandmother came from Dresden, Tess? So you have more connections to the town than me! I will go to our local library later for some information. At least the Frauenkirche must be well worth a visit. I'll keep you all informed.
And I'll listen to Radio Cumbria, to be a little closer to Keswick.
Tess I have left a link for you at the top of the blog.
Hi Lyn, thanks for the link, from me too. Heard you yesterday already and just listened to you once again. You are famous!
Thanks for the attachment Lynn - I listened to the link - lovely to hear that HRH waved to you Lynn! That would be a real honour to me too! Any chance you could come and wallpaper our flat, it's looking a bit tatty like! (only joking...) Look forward to hearing more.
Have a good week folks!
As for the waiting-for-rain-to-stop Lynn, the sooner the better! Won't ask where Peter has made the suggestions! :-)
